Asanda Rilityana did her first training in the arts at AMAC arts and media access centre for two year, she then went to Magnet theatre where she was trained in physical theatre for two years.In 2010 she did Ingcwaba Lendonda directed by Mandla Mbothwe and Faniswa Yisa. She worked in since, working with different and well known directors such as Mrs Dommisse, Brett Bailey,Thami Mbongo, Jennie Reznek, Thoko Ntshinga and Joel Prince. She has been in and out of the country performing in different countries. She recently came back from Iran where she was doing Patchwork directed by Joanna Evans. She is also a Zabalaza festival nominee for best actress in Thando Doni’s Mhla Salamana which also had a season at the Soweto theater. Asanda is currently teaching drama in high school working under Nyanga Arts center. She recently come back from Reunion and Iran, where she performed in Patch work and Just Here. In May 2017 she participated in Assitej’s 23rd International Congress which was held in Cape Town.
